It’s now the third biggest opening week for a Nigerian album on Spotify.
Olamide’s Self-Titled Album Makes History After One Week Debut
Olamide’s self-titled 15th studio album, “Olamidé”, has made a historic debut just one week after its release.
The 17-track project recorded 19.1 million streams in its first week on Spotify Nigeria, making it the third biggest opening week ever for a Nigerian album on the platform. Only Wizkid’s “Morayo” (35.8 million) and Davido’s “5ive” (27.6 million) had higher first-week numbers.
The album also secured global recognition, ranking fifth on Spotify’s Top Albums Debut Global chart and ninth on the Top Albums Debut USA chart.
Prior to this, “Olamidé” had already broken records on its opening day, earning 4.9 million streams, the highest for a Nigerian rap album and the fourth highest overall across all genres.

At the time of writing, “Olamidé” remains the top album on Spotify Nigeria, while “99” — the 11th track featuring Deacolm holds the top spot on the country’s song chart. However, it now faces competition from “Billionaire’s Club” (also from the album) and “Ewo” by the Uzama brothers.
