The short drama on autism, directed by Ella Chikezie, is nominated for Best Short Film at the Silicon Valley African Film Festival.
In Her Shoes, a Nollywood short drama highlighting autism, has secured selections at three international film festivals across South Africa, North America, and Europe.
The film will screen in August at the Power 24 International Film Festival in South Africa. In October, it will premiere in North America at the Silicon Valley African Film Festival, where it is also nominated for Best Short Film. It will also feature in Europe at Seize the Film, a festival dedicated to stories about disability.

The announcement was made on August 18 by the film’s Director of Photography, Adeniyi Joseph (“Landline”).
Written and directed by Ella Chikezie, In Her Shoes stars Emmanuel Adex, Darasimi Nadi, and Imoh Eboh.
The project was conceived to draw attention to autism, a subject the filmmakers described as underrepresented in Nollywood.

“When we set out to make ‘In Her Shoes,’ we wanted to tell a story that would spotlight a very important but often overlooked subject,” Joseph said.
The film continues Nollywood’s growing presence on the international festival circuit, joining other recent projects that have highlighted socially relevant themes.
