Saoirse Ronan Joins the Cast of Sam Mendes’ “The Beatles – A Four Film Cinematic Event”
Saoirse Ronan has joined the cast of Sam Mendes’ highly anticipated The Beatles – A Four Film Cinematic Event, taking on the role of Linda McCartney alongside Paul Mescal, who will play Paul McCartney.
According to Deadline, the project backed by Sony Pictures will tell the story of the Beatles through four interconnected feature films, each dedicated to one member of the legendary band. All four installments are scheduled for release in April 2028.
Ronan, a four-time Oscar nominee, will portray Linda McCartney, the late photographer and musician who married Paul in 1969 and later performed with him in the post-Beatles band Wings. Linda passed away in 1998 at the age of 56.

This marks a reunion for Ronan and Mescal, who previously starred together in Foe (2023), and their casting is already generating excitement for their on-screen chemistry and creative synergy.
As previously reported by The Nollywood Reporter, the ensemble includes Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr. Supporting roles feature Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono, Aimee Lou Wood as Pattie Boyd, and Mia McKenna-Bruce as Maureen Starkey.
Mendes’ ambitious project will chronicle the Beatles’ journey from their early days in Liverpool to their 1970 breakup. With full life story and music rights secured from Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and the families of John Lennon and George Harrison, it will be the first officially sanctioned scripted portrayal of the iconic group.
