After winning at Harlem and earning AMAA nominations, Asurf Oluseyi’s multilingual thriller prepares for a nationwide cinema debut following its AFRIFF 2025 opening.
The Pan-African thriller 3 Cold Dishes will premiere in cinemas on November 7, following its opening slot at the 2025 Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) and an early win plus multiple nominations.
Directed by Asurf Oluseyi and written by Tomi Adesina, the film brings together a multilingual cast and storyline spanning Nigeria, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, and Mauritania. It centres on three women — Esosa, Fatouma and Giselle — trafficked into sex slavery by trusted men and later reuniting as survivors turned power brokers who seek revenge on their own terms.

The film recently won the Best World Film award at the Harlem International Film Festival. It also earned multiple nominations at the 2025 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), including a nod for Best Film among other categories.
Produced under Spaceship Films and marking the executive-producer debut of Burna Boy, 3 Cold Dishes features a cast drawn from across the continent and delivers a blend of genre intensity and social commentary.
With its forthcoming cinema release on November 7, the film joins a wave of African productions leveraging festival acclaim and pan-continental storytelling to reach broader audiences.
