Priyanka Chopra Plays Pirate Queen in ‘The Bluff’

Priyanka Chopra stars as a former pirate in The Bluff, an upcoming Prime Video original scheduled for release Feb. 25.

 

Set in the late 19th-century Caribbean, the film follows Ercell Bodden, also known as “Bloody Mary,” a former pirate who abandons her life at sea and escapes with a cache of gold. She later attempts to build a quiet life for her family on the Cayman Islands.

 

Karl Urban is Connor, Ercell Bodden’s boss whose ruthless revenge mission is fueled by Ercell’s betrayal. Both as a former lover and pirate crew member, Connor is determined to get Ercell back.

Her past resurfaces when her former captain, Connor, played by Karl Urban, tracks her down with members of their old crew. The confrontation forces Ercell to defend her home and confront the life she left behind.

 

The action thriller is directed by Frank E. Flowers, who co-wrote the screenplay with Joe Ballarini.

The cast also includes Ismael Cruz Córdova, Safia Oakley-Green, Temuera Morrison, Gary Beadle, Sachi Joab, Ronnie James Hughes and David Field. Production credits include AGBO, Cinestar Pictures and Purple Pebble Pictures.

 

The Bluff will stream on Prime Video beginning Feb. 25.
