Gal Gadot stars as a London lawyer forced into a deadly race against time in The Runner, an upcoming British action thriller directed by Kevin Macdonald and set to premiere on Prime Video in September.
The film follows Maia Marten, a successful London-based lawyer whose morning run takes a dangerous turn after she learns that her son has been abducted.
Following cryptic instructions from an anonymous caller, Maia is forced to run across London and kill a client she represents within one hour to save her son.
As she races through the city, The Runner unravels a web of dark secrets surrounding Maia and the people in her life, while placing her in a desperate struggle to save her son.
Gadot leads the Amazon MGM Studios project, written by Mark Gibson, alongside Damian Lewis, Rory Wilmot, Kenton Lloyd Morgan and Alfred Enoch.
The film is produced by Rockwood Pictures, with Anthony Dod Mantle serving as cinematographer. The Runner also marks another collaboration between Mantle and Macdonald, who have previously worked together on projects including The Last King of Scotland and State of Play.
The Runner is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video on September 2, 2026.
