“At Ease” is the latest project from First Features, an innovative initiative by Native Filmworks and Michelangelo Productions aimed at empowering new voices in the Nollywood industry by providing them with opportunities to create meaningful and impactful films.

Known for its commitment to groundbreaking storytelling, First Features has produced critically acclaimed films such as “Kill Boro” and “A Father’s Love”. Now, the program is set to captivate audiences with its sixth film, “At Ease”.

Directed by Seun Richards and written by Stephanie Dadet, “At Ease” offers a compelling narrative that examines the psychological aftermath of war. The film tells the story of Captain Agbo, a survivor of a harrowing blast in Northern Nigeria, as he battles with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) while navigating family dynamics and the emotional scars of his experiences.

The film stars Asa’ah Samuel, Anee Icha, Rekiya Attah, and Keppy Ekpenyong.

The film’s cinematography, led by South African Rangwetsane Maphike and Mike Downie, is expected to deliver a visually stunning experience, capturing the raw emotions and dramatic landscapes integral to the film’s narrative. Under the supervision of Steve Gukas, CEO of Native Filmworks, and Dotun Olakunri, “At Ease” is poised to be a visual and emotional tour de force.

In an Instagram post, Steve Gukas expressed his excitement about the film’s completion and its potential impact on audiences: “And so we finally wrapped what was a grueling shoot. Really gratifying helping the next generation of Nollywood filmmakers find their voice and tell impactful stories. “At Ease” is definitely one to look out for. Coming soon.”

With previous successes such as “Living In Bondage: Breaking Free”, “A Place in the Stars” and “93 Days”, Native Filmworks continues to be a pivotal force in shaping the Nigerian film landscape.

As anticipation builds, the newly released behind-the-scenes video offers fans a sneak peek into the making of “At Ease.”
