The ”Bad Boys” are back in action! Sony Pictures has unveiled the first trailer and official title for the hotly anticipated fourth installment of the “Bad Boys” franchise – ”Bad Boys: Ride or Die” – which hits theaters Jun. 7.
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence reprise their iconic roles as maverick Miami cops Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett for another round of explosive action and offbeat comedy. The directors of the franchise’s third installment (“Bad Boys for Life”) Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are slated to return to helm the new adventure.
The three-minute epic teaser lays out the new film’s plot in which Mike and Marcus’ late former captain is framed, and they must work to clear his name. Unfortunately, both Mike and Marcus become suspects themselves as they try to uncover a massive conspiracy involving drug cartels and the Miami Police Force.
Chris Bremner penned the script, with Will Smith, Jerry Bruckheimer, Chad Oman, and Doug Belgrad producing. The stacked ensemble also includes Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Paola Nuñez, Eric Dane, Ioan Gruffudd, Jacob Scipio, Melanie Liburd, Tasha Smith, and Tiffany Haddish.
After 2020’s ”Bad Boys for Life” revived the buddy cop franchise as a box office smash, “Ride or Die” looks primed to keep the thrills and chuckles coming fast and furious when it is released theatrically in June.
