Funke Akindele, Nollywood actress and producer known for her December film releases, is set to drop her latest project, Behind The Scenes, a story exploring family, friendship, love, and conflict.

 

The upcoming comedy-drama promises to capture the realities, struggles, and experiences of crew members, often hidden from public view, through relatable and suspense-filled moments.

 

Akindele leads an ensemble cast alongside Tobi Bakre, Iyabo Ojo, Scarlet Gomez, Ibrahim Chatta, and Uche Montana. Others include Uzor Arukwe, Destiny Etiko, Victoria Adeleye, Ini Dima Okoji, Dele Odule, Adebayo Adebowale (Mr Macaroni), Afeez Oyetoro, Handi Danbaki, Wanni Danbaki, Ejiro Onojaife, and Akinyoola Ayoola Kamo.

 

Funke Akindele, best described as the box office Queen, is renowned for her commercial blockbusters including Everybody Loves Jenifa, The Tribe Called Judah, Battle on Buka Street and Omo Ghetto: The Saga, all occupying the first four spots on Nollywood’s all-time highest-grossing films.

For Behind The Scenes, Akindele and Tunde Olaoye, Nigerian writer and director, return as co-directors following their 2024 collaborative project Everybody Loves Jenifa, which surpassed N1 billion at the Nigerian box office.

 

The film, produced under Funke Akindele Network, is distributed nationwide by FilmOne Entertainment. Behind the Scenes opens in Nigerian cinemas on December 12, 2025.
