Lionsgate is gearing up to release a new adaptation of the beloved comic series “The Crow” on August 23. Directed by Rupert Sanders, known for “Snow White and the Huntsman,” and written by Oscar nominee Zach Baylin, the film is rated R due to intense violence and language.
The story follows Eric Draven, whose supernatural powers is awaken after the love of his life, Shelly Webster, is brutally murdered. Draven seeks vengeance against their killers, traversing between the realms of the living and the dead to rectify the wrongs done to them.

Starring Bill Skarsgård as Eric Draven and FKA twigs as Shelly Webster, this adaptation is a fresh take on James O’Barr’s graphic novel rather than a remake of the original 1994 film. Initially scheduled for release on June 7, the film will now debut on August 23 and is distributed by FilmOne in Nigeria.
The film also stars Danny Huston, Isabella Wei, and Sami Bouajila, adding depth to the cast.
