Renowned Nigerian filmmaker Tosin Igho has announced the release of his latest thriller, “Suspicion”, which will premiere on Amazon Prime on November 28, 2024.
Known for projects such as “Nneka the Pretty Serpent” and “Seven”, Igho promises a suspenseful journey with “Suspicion”, an action-packed thriller that explores the impact of ritual practices on its victims.
In an exclusive interview, Igho revealed that Suspicion was initially filmed in September 2022 but underwent additional production phases following Amazon’s acquisition. “Amazon saw the film earlier on and picked it up as an original, which led us back into creative adjustments, re-editing, and even reshoots this January. So, the film’s coming out later this year because Amazon slowed down the process,” he explained
The film stars acclaimed actor Stan Nze in the lead role, reprising a character inspired by Igho’s 2008 short film “The Suspicious Guy”. Building on themes of ritualistic horror from his earlier work, Igho describes Suspicion as a dark yet captivating narrative, packed with action and moral conflict.
The film also features an ensemble cast of Nollywood veterans like; Richard Mofe Damijo, Tina Mba, Stan Nze, Omowunmi Dada, Kalu Ikeagwu, and Uzor Arukwe. Through its storyline, “Suspicion” follows the lives of individuals impacted by ritualistic practices, promising an intense portrayal of suspense and moral conflict.
In an Instagram post, Igho shared his excitement with fans, saying, “Official Teaser alert! A sneak peek into the gripping suspense, intense drama, and heart-pumping action that’s about to unfold. Mark your calendars!””Suspicion” is expected to add a new dimension to Igho’s portfolio, marking another bold step in the thriller genre for the celebrated filmmaker.
