Ekene Mekwunye returns with ‘Honey Money’

Ekene Mekwunye, an AMVCA Award-winning director, is set to release his latest crime drama, Honey Money.
Produced by VSL Media and distributed by FilmOne Entertainment, the film is set to hit cinemas nationwide on April 28, 2023, and it has been selected for the 10th edition of Nollywood Week Film Festival in Paris.
Honey Money tells the story of Tobiloba, a young man who comes from a modest background but suddenly starts living a luxurious life, much to the chagrin of his parents. Unbeknownst to them, he belongs to a gang that funds his newfound wealth.
The thriller features an impressive cast, including Timini Egbuson, Nancy Isime, Iyabo Ojo, Femi Branch, Junior Pope Odonwodo, Lina Idoko, Sandra Okunzuwa, Dayo Amusa, Somadina Adinma, Olaniyan Irewolede Cynthia, and more.
The film is the third project by VSL Media, led by Vincent Okonkwo, and follows the success of their previous releases, The Wildflower and Passport.
In an Instagram post, Ekene Mekwunye shared his excitement for audiences to see his latest work, describing Honey Money as a film that will “blow their mind.”
