In the heart-pounding world of Hollywood stunts and daring escapades, one man stands out as the unsung hero behind the scenes−the fall guy. This enigmatic figure, often hidden in the shadows of the limelight, takes on the risky task of performing death-defying stunts in place of the lead actors, ensuring that the show goes on without a hitch.

“The Fall Guy” sheds light on the life of a stuntman (the fall guy) through the eyes of unappreciated hero Colt Seavers (Ryan Gosling) who puts his all into the action scenes he choreographs and participates in. However, he does not get the love he deserves due to aging in the film industry. Colt reluctantly takes on the role of a body double for famous actor Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), the leading man in rookie director Jody Moreno’s (Emily Blunt) film. Jody is Colt’s ex-girlfriend, but he still has feelings for her.

Things take a turn for the worst when Tom mysteriously goes missing while the film is in production. The set is on the verge of being shut down, so Colt is tasked with finding Tom and saving Jody’s debut film. Unknown to Colt, Tom has entangled himself with shady people who are after his life.

The Fall Guy

Fresh off the success of the box-office sensation, “Barbie,” Ryan Gosling takes on the role of Colt Seavers, and Emily Blunt plays Jody Moreno. Joining the two stars in this action-comedy are Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Winston Duke, Hannah Waddingham, Stephanie Hsu, and Teresa Palmer.

David Leitch, known for delivering box-office hits such as “Atomic Blonde,” “Bullet Train,” and “Dead Pool 2,” sits on the directorial chair and also serves as one of the producers of the film.

Loosely based on the 1980s series on stunt performers, “The Fall Guy” first premiered at the SXSW festival on Mar. 12 and received positive reviews. It is on track to be released internationally on May 3.
