The anticipated horror sequel comes three years after the release of “M3GAN” in 2022.
“M3GAN 2.0,” an upcoming science fiction horror film written and directed by Gerard Johnstone, is set to hit theaters worldwide on June 27, 2025.
Originally slated for release on May 16, 2025, the upcoming sequel to “M3GAN” (2022) is based on a story crafted by Johnstone and Akela Cooper.
In “M3GAN 2.0,” the infamous dancing killer robot is brought back to life with one mission—stop Amelia, a powerful military-grade machine built using M3GAN’s own technology. As Amelia spearheads a hostile AI uprising, M3GAN is resurrected to eliminate the threat she unknowingly helped create.

The sequel sees the return of Allison Williams, Violet McGraw, Amie Donald, and Jenna Davis, joined by new cast members Ivanna Sakhno, Aristotle Athari, Timm Sharp, and Jemaine Clement.
Producers Jason Blum and James Wan are back at the helm, representing their respective studios—Blumhouse Productions and Atomic Monster.
Distributed by Universal Pictures, the film is speculated to be the upgrade fans have been waiting for, as it explores M3GAN’s vengeful return.
