“Hotel Labamba” And All The Fun In Chaos

What could go wrong on just another day in a hotel? Well, it depends on who you ask and where you have lodged. For a regular person in a regular hotel on a regular day, nothing really. But for the big boys and girls in a hotel, which provides exclusivity on a regular day, everything you can imagine has already gone wrong.

In “Hotel Labamba,” popular social media influencer, Sexy Ella and her rich boo with the swag, a sneaky woman with her best friend’s sneaky husband, Big Berry with the accent from outer space and many others are lodged. All goes well for a minute until the manager has to act on orders from Chief, the owner of the hotel, to clear the hotel and get it ready for some elites who would be lodged for five days.

Just in time for the elites to lodge in this hotel, Sexy Ella is found dead. Perfect timing! Now, it becomes a race against one of the cruelest forces – time – to find the murderer. Everyone in Hotel Labamba becomes a suspect. The hotel manager and Zizi, a beautiful, new detective have the help of Ofure, a Sergeant, in solving this murder mystery. Do they solve it, or does the murderer walk free? You have to find out.

When this movie began, I was ready for a thick plot that would have me put on my detective hat (I don’t have any) to work this case, but the movie leaned more towards its comedic side. However, if you pay attention like I did, you can figure out the murderer as quickly as I did. But can you?

The cast of “Hotel Labamba” is nicely picked. Seeing Bimbo Ademoye play a different role from what she’s used to, a more serious one, had me wanting to watch her more. I would love to see more of that. Lateef Adedimeji also killed his role as an annoying character with an accent that hurt the ears. It was a lot to laugh at. Blessing Jessica also brought out a lot from the comedy bag. Lilian Afegbai was also amazing in this movie even though her character kept her in her comfort zone.

Overall, the cast is amazing.

Kudos to the make-up crew of “Hotel Labamba.” It was a perfect execution of the job. The whole cast was beautifully dressed.

If you are on the hunt for a feel-good mix of crime and comedy, “Hotel Labamba” is right for you. However, be warned:  this movie is not exactly family-friendly.
