Ikenga: The Last Festival, directed by Darlington Obodo Kelechi, is set to arrive in cinemas on Aug. 21, bringing an epic story of Igbo tradition, forbidden power and destiny to the big screen.
The film boasts an ensemble cast led by Pete Edochie, Patience Ozokwor, Kanayo O. Kanayo, Nkem Owoh, Zubby Michael, Beverly Osu, Regina Daniels, Destiny Etiko and Jide Kene Achufusi.
The story follows Ikenga and Chimamanda, who are born into different families but share an identical, mysterious birthmark. Their lives become intertwined as a forbidden power threatens to rewrite destiny in a society governed by tradition and honour.
Produced by Billionaire Black Boss Productions, the film promises a rich celebration of Igbo culture through traditional music, dance, sacred rites and cultural displays.
The release also reunites Nollywood veterans Pete Edochie and Nkem Owoh, following their collaboration in Ibobo: The Blind Seer (2025).
Ikenga: The Last Festival opens in cinemas on Aug. 21 and will be distributed across Nigeria and Ghana by FilmOne Entertainment.
