Kayode Kasum’s Ajosepo 2: The Gathering, a sequel to his 2024 film Ajosepo, will arrive in Nigerian cinemas on May 28, promising a continuation of its family-driven drama.
The original film follows a young couple trying to resolve a family conflict that threatens to derail their wedding. The sequel builds on this premise, widening both its narrative scope and ensemble cast.
Ajosepo 2: The Gathering features a mix of returning and new cast members, including Timini Egbuson, Odunlade Adekola, Mercy Aigbe, Tomike Adeoye, Mike Afolarin, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Bolaji Ogunmola, Toyin Abraham, Yemi Solade, Izzy Besta, Tomisin Samson, and Oloruntimilehin Bukola.

One notable shift in the sequel is its focus on Jide, played by Egbuson, and Bolaji, played by Ogunmola, whose wedding takes center stage. This differs from the original, which centered on Dapo, played by Afolarin, and Tani, played by Adeoye, and the tensions surrounding their union.
The film is produced by Kasum, Ogunmola, and Barbara Babarinsa, Head of Production at FilmOne Studios, with FilmOne Entertainment handling theatrical distribution across Nigeria.
With Ajosepo 2: The Gathering, Kasum leans into a romantic comedy rooted in family conflict, exploring the pressures relationships face under strain.
