Kayode Kasum’s “Something Like Gold” Set For Worldwide Premiere on September 29
Summer in Nollywood was dedicated to Yoruba epics. September, however, is all about the emotion that we all long for: love. In the spirit of romance, Nollywood filmmaker, Kayode Kasum, recently unveiled the trailer for his project, a romcom titled “Something Like Gold.”
It tells the story of a young woman from a wealthy home who finds love again in the most unexpected place after being stood up by her fiancé on their wedding day. The movie celebrates love, life, and African culture in a unique and enthralling way.
Kasum serves as the film’s director and Sandra Okunzuwa is the film’s producer. “Something Like Gold” will be her first film to feature in the cinema and interestingly, she plays the female lead.
Joining Okunzuwa is a stellar cast of Nollywood elites like Kunle Remi, Mercy Johnson, Segun Arinze, Patrick Doyle, Tope Olowoniyan, Timini Egbuson, Broda Shaggi, Teniola Aladese, Waliu Abayomi Fagbemi, Bela Salami, and Ebere Doris Okorie.
“Something Like Gold” will premiere theatrically on Sept.29. It is a collaborative project with FilmOne Entertainment. Watch the trailer here.
