Netflix is housing another Knives Out installment, and this time, it’s backed by a brand-new cast. Wake Up Dead Man arrives on the global streamer on December 12, 2025.

The mystery film follows Detective Benoit Blanc on yet another uniquely puzzling mission. This time, he is called to a church to investigate the suspicious death of its priest, a man who, by all accounts, managed to ruffle more than a few feathers. With a long list of suspects ranging from his own parishioners to townspeople who wanted him gone, Blanc must uncover the true culprit before an innocent man takes the fall for the crime.

Wake Up Dead Man stars Daniel Craig, Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack, and Thomas Haden Church.

Knives Out creator Rian Johnson returns as director, writer, and producer, with Ram Bergman also returning as co-producer, just as he did for the 2019 film of the same name.

Serving as the third installment in the Knives Out franchise, after Knives Out (2019) and Netflix’s Glass Onion (2022), Wake Up Dead Man stands as a standalone sequel to Glass Onion. It premiered at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 6, 2025, followed by a limited theatrical release on November 26, 2025. The film has received widespread acclaim, earning an impressive 95% on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer.
