In the world of romantic comedies, where love stories often adhere to familiar tropes and predictable plots, “The Idea of You” emerges as a refreshing departure. The upcoming film not only celebrates the timeless allure of romance but also dares to explore the complexities of relationships, including the taboo topic of age-gap romance.

Based on a book of the same name by Robinne Lee, “The Idea of You” centers on 40-year-old single mother Solene Marchand (Anne Hathaway) whose main focus is her work and taking care of her teenage daughter. At her ex-husband’s request, she takes her daughter to the Coachella Music Festival and runs into 24-year-old Hayes Campbell (Nicholas Galitzine), the lead singer of one of the hottest bands in the world−August Moon.

Sparks fly between the two individuals and a romance blossoms, but the media threatens to ruin their lives as they embark on a smear campaign against Solene. Whether or not love conquers all things will be fully explored in this film which has been weirdly dubbed a “Harry Styles fan fiction.”

Academy Award winner Hathaway and Galitzine, one of the most promising actors in Hollywood, take on the lead roles as Solene Marchand and Hayes Campbell, respectively. Joining them is an ensemble cast comprising of Ella Rubin, Reid Scott, Jordan Aaron, Jaiden Anthony, Raymond Cham, Viktor White, Dakota Adan, Annie Mumolo, and Perry Mattfeld.
