“Onyegwu” Sets for July 19 Release on Prime Video

“Onyegwu,” directed by Jerome Weber and Uche Jombo, will be available on Prime Video starting July 19.

The film follows a football star whose career is derailed by unforeseen challenges, only to find new inspiration through his encounter with a promising young player named Nedu.

Written by Victor Alabi, Jack’enneth Opukeme, and Stephen Oluboyo, the film stars a talented cast featuring Toyin Abraham, Lateef Adedimeji, Natacha Akide, Samuel Perry (Broda Shaggi), Ini Edo, Nancy Isime, Lilian Esoro, Chioma Akpota, Tina MBA and Williams Uchemba.

Distributed by Filmone, “Onyegwu” adds to the growing list of Nollywood sports films this year, joining the ranks of “Aburo.”

The film made its debut at the African International Film Festival (AFRIFF) in November 2023.
