Spark in the Dark, an upcoming Nollywood romantic comedy, is set for a cinema release on April 24. The film explores how an unexpected life event reshapes love, identity, and relationships.
The story centers on Kate, played by Tope Olowoniyan, a young influencer whose life appears stable. She finds love with Melvin Obiora, playedby Gideon Okeke, as both characters build a relationship grounded in emotional connection and shared ambition.
Their dynamic shifts after a domestic accident leaves Kate blind, introducing a new reality that tests their bond. The film examines how both characters adjust to the change and the strain it places on their relationship.

Supporting cast members include Blossom Chukwujekwu, Daniel Etim Effiong, Somto Eze, Eso Dike, and Venita Akpofure. The film also extends its focus to friendships and support systems surrounding the couple.
Written by Abigail Timmann, the film addresses themes of resilience and emotional dependency. It raises questions about the limits of love when faced with sudden and life-altering circumstances.
