Valentine’s Day often renews interest in romantic films, and Nollywood has built a strong catalogue of love stories that audiences revisit long after their release. From wedding comedies to bittersweet dramas, these films explore different forms of love;  idealistic, complicated, unexpected and sometimes tragic.

 

Here are some Nollywood titles that have resonated widely with Nigerian audiences.

 

Love in Every Word

Omoni Oboli’s YouTube hit follows Chioma (BamBam Olawunmi-Adenibuyan) and Obiora (Uzor Arukwe), whose relationship grows through moments of conflict, reassurance and emotional vulnerability. The film gained traction online for its memorable dialogue and portrayal of a supportive partnership, quickly becoming one of the most discussed Nollywood romance releases of 2025.
