Over the past few days, multiple videos have surfaced of Seyi Vibez hanging out with Burna boy over breakfast, at the club, on a tarmac and in a purple Lamborghini-led motorcade.
The duo weren’t the only ones in these moments: Odumodublvck, Phyno, 6uff and 7 Gents featured at one point too. But the former duo are the most interesting to the Afrobeats faithful and for good reason.
A Seyi Vibez and Burna Boy collaboration is one of the rarest should-happens in the Nigerian music realm. The only time it was realized was on “Giza,” Track 11 of I Told Them… and it was arguably one of the best things to come out of that project both with respect to commercial success and quality.
If the recent linkups is soft-launching a collaboration, it’s doing a terrible job of being discreet (and we’re not complaining).
It's been nine and six months respectively since both artistes’ last albums. We could pray for nothing more to the music gods than for a full-length project. It would almost certainly spill numbers to rival Wizkid and Asake’s REAL, Vol.1 EP.
