Ever since linking up on the track Tony Montana, the Skepta-Portable brotherhood has crossed borders, boosted charts, and, apparently, wardrobes
Asides elevating his international profile and bank account via royalties, the collaboration earned Portable Skepta’s respect. The UK rapper had earlier described the controversial artiste’s persona as “refreshing.”
It’s apparently refreshing enough to deserve a luxury gift: a pair of blazing red Nike Air Force 1 High “Red October” sneakers, complete with coded buckles that unlock like a vault.
In a joint Instagram post with comedian Lawal Lateef Bola, Portable proudly flashed the sneakers, claiming they’re worth “over one point something million.” And he didn’t even get to keep them for long. Bola now owns them, cheekily quipping, “Your shoe get code?”
All this is to say: it’s not entirely out of character for Portable to turn a gift exchange into a headline.
