Afrobeats star Adekunle Gold has announced a new single, “Coco Money,” set for release on July 18, 2025.
The upcoming track, teased across his social media platforms, appears to draw subtle inspiration from Rihanna’s 2015 hit “Bitch Better Have My Money,” with references to its lyrics in the chorus.
“Coco Money” marks Gold’s first release since February’s “Obimo,” which had moderate success on Nigerian charts. This new single introduces a more upbeat, party-ready sound, while also reflecting a return to some of his earlier highlife influences.
The promotional teaser suggests a shift in aesthetic as well, with the singer adopting a suave, monochromatic style. In his words, the song is “coming for every party, every car, every street, every home.”
