Rema continues to dominate the global music scene as his hit single “Baby (Is It A Crime)” surpasses 50 million streams on Spotify, solidifying its status as the most streamed Nigerian song of 2025 to date.
Released on February 7, 2025, the Afro-pop single broke records upon arrival, becoming the most streamed African song on the platform within four days of release. Its success followed weeks of palpable anticipation from fans eager to hear new music from the artiste following a prolonged hiatus.
Not far behind the Sade Adu–sampled hit is Davido’s viral single “With You” featuring Omah Lay, which has garnered 33 million streams. In third place is rapper Odumodublvck’s “PITY THIS BOY” featuring Victony, with over 30 million streams on the platform.
Rema’s second single of 2025, “Bout U,” is also performing modestly, with 14 million streams since its release on April 11.
Much of the success of “Baby (Is It A Crime)” can be attributed to Rema’s consistent promotion during his concerts and live performances. He showcased the track at Coachella in April and has continued to spotlight it at various stops on his ongoing HEIS World Tour.
The Grammy-nominee continues to be a leading figure in the Afrobeats and Afro-rave movement, captivating a global audience with his distinctive sound and magnetic stage presence.
