Production is underway on Five Figures, a new moral thriller from director Akay Mason, as the project officially unveils its cast.
The film features a lineup that includes Odunlade Adekola, Mike Ezuruonye, Wumi Toriola, Bimbo Akintola, Chuks Joseph, Uche Montana, Ini Edo and Ireti Doyle. Chimezie Imo is also set to star while serving as associate producer on the project.
Produced by Story 73 Nigeria Limited and co-produced by Element24 Media, the film centres on a group of individuals navigating a high-stakes environment where power suppresses truth and moral choices carry lasting consequences.
The narrative unfolds around a tragic cover-up that triggers a chain reaction of guilt, fear and accountability, forcing its characters to confront the repercussions of their actions.
Behind the camera, Mason directs and co-produces from a script written by Steven Okonkwo. Becca Ashang serves as producer, with Eno Eje attached as executive producer. Distribution will be handled by Cinemax Distribution Limited, which has secured theatrical rights for the film.
Mason describes the project as a significant step in his filmmaking journey, particularly as it marks a personal milestone under his production outfit.
“This project is especially personal because it marks my first venture as a producer/director under my production company, Element24 Media,” he says. “This is one of those projects that reminds me exactly why I fell in love with filmmaking in the first place.”
