Asake’s “M$NEY” breaks all-time Spotify Nigeria Record Set 18 months ago.
After barely a week of tracking, the album has amassed 37.5 million streams on the market, which is the record for the biggest first-week streaming debut on Spotify Nigeria
For comparison, the previous record holder for first-week streams was Morayo back in November 22 to 29, with 35.8 million.
In particular, M$NEY recorded 6.43 million streams on Spotify in its 6th day of release, which is the second-biggest sixth-day streams for any African album.
However, in terms of biggest opening day streams globally for Nigerian projects on Spotify, M$NEY still trails behind Morayo and Davido’s 5ive. The album opened with 13.1 million first-day streams, compared to Morayo’s 16.2 million and 5ive’s 15 million.
