Ayra Starr has announced that her third studio album, Starr Girl, will be released in July 2026. The Nigerian global music sensation made the revelation during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, marking the first official confirmation of the project’s title and release window.
“My album Starr Girl drops in July. I’m so proud of this body of work. I put everything into it, and I can’t wait for the world to hear it,” she said during the interview.
The album has been eagerly anticipated since Ayra Starr began hinting at the project in 2025. In a separate 2026 interview with Angela Yee, she revealed that Starr Girl would not follow the age and numbers concept of her previous albums, describing it as a project where she explored new sounds and encouraging fans to expect diversity.
Ahead of the release, she has dropped a string of singles offering a glimpse into her evolving sonic direction. Her latest, Where Do We Go, released in March, sees her trade Afrobeats’ percussive energy for a Dancehall-shaped pop record aimed at a broader global audience. The single was performed live for the studio audience during her Jennifer Hudson Show appearance.
The run of releases follows a strong 2025 showing that included the summer hit Hot Body, the Grammy-nominated Gimme Dat featuring Wizkid, Who’s Dat Girl with Rema, and the Afro-R&B Valentine’s Day cut All The Love.
While the full tracklist and guest features are yet to be unveiled, Ayra Starr has teased a collaboration with Afrobeats superstar Asake, confirmed to appear on the album. Fans can expect a star-studded supporting cast, similar to that of her sophomore LP, The Year I Turned 21.
2026 has been an eventful year for the singer, who recently claimed the MOBO Award for Best International Act and delivered a guest verse on Johnny Drille’s Colorado alongside Young Jonn.
