Ayra Starr has unveiled the music video for “Last Heartbreak Song,” which depicts a love story gone awry through stunning beachside visuals. Her latest single features American R&B artist, Giveon.
The track is the ninth song from Ayra Starr’s sophomore album “The Year I Turned 21,” a critically acclaimed, genre-bending, Afrocentric release that has already spawned hits like “Bad Vibez” with Seyi Vibez and “Commas.”
In the minimalistic yet captivating video, directed by Bobby Hanaford under Mavin Records, Ayra Starr stands behind a cracking concrete wall, symbolizing the end of her relationship with her love interest, played by Giveon. The smooth-voiced Giveon serenades her from the other side, pleading through emotive vocals for another chance.
Released on May 30, the “Last Heartbreak Song” visuals have already amassed over 460,000 views worldwide on YouTube, quickly becoming a fan favorite from the album.
With its seamless blend of Ayra Starr’s Afrobeats sound and Giveon’s R&B stylings, set against the backdrop of a picturesque beach, the video for “Last Heartbreak Song” encapsulates the ill-fated romance portrayed in the track.
The release further cements Ayra Starr’s status as a rising force in the music industry, as her acclaimed sophomore effort continues to make waves and garner global attention. Watch the video here.
