After racking up more than 8 million streams on July 17, “Un Verano Sin Ti”, Bad Bunny’s fifth studio album, has now surpassed 20 billion streams on Spotify, making it the first project ever to reach the milestone.

The three-year-old album became the platform’s most-streamed album in July 2023, overtaking Ed Sheeran’s “÷ (Divide)”.

Five of its 23 tracks have each crossed the billion-stream mark: “Me Porto Bonito” (feat. Chencho Corleone), “Tití Me Preguntó”, “Callaita” (feat. Tainy), “Ojitos Lindos” (feat. Bomba Estéreo), and “Efecto.” Among these, “Me Porto Bonito” leads with over 2 billion streams.

This solidifies Bad Bunny’s unofficial title as the “King of Spotify.” The Puerto Rican-born rapper was the most-streamed artist globally on the platform from 2020 to 2022.

Just last month, he also became the first Latin or Spanish-language act to cross 100 billion Spotify streams—81 billion as a lead artist, and 11 billion from collaborations. Only Drake and Taylor Swift have higher totals.

For context, Africa and Afrobeats’ top-streamed album on Spotify is Rema’s “Rave & Roses”, with 2.97 billion streams. Among female artists, Olivia Rodrigo leads with “Sour” at 15.2 billion streams.
