The 32-show stadium tour ended with a Destiny’s Child reunion and over $407 million in earnings.
Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” Becomes Highest-Grossing Country Tour of All Time
Global icon Beyoncé has set a new record with her Cowboy Carter stadium tour, which has become the highest-grossing country tour in history.
According to Billboard Boxscore, the 32-show run grossed $407.6 million (₦305.5 million), drawing 1.6 million attendees and wrapping up on July 26 in Las Vegas.
The tour supported Beyoncé’s eighth studio album, “Cowboy Carter,” which was released on March 29, 2024. The album — a shift into the country genre — sparked conversations about race, genre, and cultural ownership in American music and helped spotlight Black country artists.
Officially titled the Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin’ Circuit Tour, it marked Beyoncé’s tenth concert tour and launched on April 28 in Inglewood, California. The all-stadium tour visited nine cities across the U.S. and U.K., including Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, London, and Las Vegas, before concluding in Paradise, Nevada. It broke over 40 venue records.
In the U.K., the tour ignited a wave of cowboy-inspired fashion, with The Guardian noting that it set a “new national dress code.”
The tour’s final stop featured surprise appearances by Beyoncé’s former Destiny’s Child bandmates, Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland. The group performed a medley of their hits, including “Bootylicious” and “Lose My Breath.” Additional guest performers included Jay-Z — who joined Beyoncé in Atlanta and previously in France — and country artist Shaboozey, who shared the stage with her for the first time during the Las Vegas finale. Miley Cyrus also joined Beyoncé in Paris to perform their collaboration “II Most Wanted.”
“Cowboy Carter” is now Beyoncé’s second tour to cross the $400 million mark, following her 2023 “Renaissance” world tour, which grossed $579 million across 56 shows. This new milestone makes Beyoncé the first American artist to achieve such a feat with two different tours.
Despite being her shortest global tour in recent years, the “Cowboy Carter” run outperformed longer tours by other acts, such as The Rolling Stones’ No Filter Tour (58 shows) and Metallica’s M72 World Tour (60 shows so far).
Kicking off with 39 songs at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, the show was praised for blending genres, fashion, and political commentary.
