Bolanle Austen-Peters’ Wire Wire is set to make its European debut at the Nollywood Week NOW Festival in Paris. The screening follows the film’s earlier premiere in South Africa.

The film will show on May 15 as an official selection at the festival. Nollywood Week NOW Festival is one of the key platforms for showcasing Nigerian films to international audiences.

Actor Bucci Franklin, who leads the film, confirmed the selection and expressed appreciation to the festival organisers. He described the opportunity as another step in the film’s festival run.

Wire Wire is a crime thriller that also stars Shaffy Bello, Olarotimi Fakunle, Blossom Chukwujekwu, and Emeka Nwagbaraocha. The film explores themes of survival, consequence, and personal agency.

Wire Wire, which marks Bolanle Austen-Peters’ notable return to the Nollywood filmmaking scene, stars Bucci Franklin as a developer who turns to fraud for survival.

The story follows Tobi, a developer preparing to launch a cybersecurity system before being accused of theft and imprisoned. As he attempts to rebuild his life, he is drawn into a network that complicates his path to freedom.

The Paris screening marks the film’s second festival outing after its debut at the Joburg Film Festival in March. Its selection places it among Nigerian titles scheduled for this year’s Nollywood Week lineup.

Other Nigerian films set to screen at the festival include Onobiren and Ewo. The event continues to highlight Nollywood productions within an international festival circuit.
