Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy has surpassed four billion total YouTube views, becoming the first Nigerian and Sub-Saharan African artiste to reach the milestone.
The figure combines views across videos on his official YouTube channel, including music videos and other content that have continued to draw audiences worldwide.
Burna Boy’s catalogue includes some of his biggest records, including “On the Low,” “Ye,” “Last Last” and “For My Hand,” each of which has accumulated hundreds of millions of views individually.
The milestone adds to Burna Boy’s history on the platform. In September 2021, he became the first Nigerian artiste to surpass one billion total YouTube views, reaching the mark ahead of other leading Nigerian acts, including Davido and Wizkid.
His YouTube audience has continued to grow alongside his international music career. His albums, including African Giant and Grammy-winning Twice As Tall, have produced widely viewed music videos and contributed to his growing audience outside Nigeria.
Burna Boy has also recorded major milestones beyond digital platforms. In 2022, he became the first Nigerian artiste to headline Madison Square Garden in New York, following the release of his fifth studio album, Love, Damini. He has since headlined major venues across the United States and Europe.
The four-billion-view milestone adds to Burna Boy’s growing list of achievements while reflecting the expanding global audience for Afrobeats.
