Popular children’s YouTube series “Temi and the Labalaba Band” (TATLB) is making the leap to national television on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Network. The show’s director, Niyi Akinmolayan, announced on social media that the series will air every Saturday at 9:30 am starting May 24, 2025.

The family-friendly musical sitcom, produced by Anthill Studios, will now reach an estimated audience of over 80 million viewers across Nigeria, marking a significant milestone in the revival of quality children’s programming on national television.

The 13-episode series, running 27 minutes per episode, follows the musical adventures of 12-year-old Temi and her friends Barry, Razak, Mina, and Boniface as they form a band to boost patronage at Temi’s grandmother’s struggling restaurant, which faces eviction due to declining sales.

Set in the heart of Lagos, Mama B’s middle-class restaurant serves as a community gathering spot where locals enjoy traditional Nigerian delicacies while watching football and socializing. The band’s performances help transform the establishment into a vibrant entertainment venue.

The show features a talented young cast including Temisola Ajamolaya (Temi), Bryan Ndukwe (Barry), Joshua Ameh (Razak), Khaira Bashir (Mina), Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga (Boniface), and Tunbosun Aiyedehin (Mama B), with Moyo Larmie as Aunty Kao and Master Lee Zaccheus in supporting roles.

Originally launched on YouTube, where it has gained a dedicated following, the show is also expected to appear on streaming platforms including Netflix and Amazon Prime. The series is available in three languages: English, French, and Portuguese, while the soundtrack can be found on Apple Music.

Anthill Studios describes the project as part of its mission to transform children’s and family entertainment by inspiring curiosity, adventure, and leadership in young viewers.
