Tennis star Coco Gauff is rolling out the first projects under her newly launched production company, iROC Media Group, nine months after establishing the banner. The projects are being developed in partnership with Tennis Channel.
The two short documentaries mark the debut output from iROC. One film explores the history of fashion in tennis, examining some of the sport’s most memorable style moments and the culture surrounding them.
The second documentary focuses on Zina Garrison, the former American tennis champion whom Gauff has previously described as one of her personal heroes. Both films are scheduled to premiere later this summer.
The documentaries are directed by Vashni Korin, known for You Can’t Stop Spirit. Gauff serves as executive producer, while Chelsea Marotta of Religion of Sports is attached as producer on the projects.
The films are being produced jointly by iROC Media Group and Religion of Sports, the company co-founded by Tom Brady. Religion of Sports previously produced projects including In the Arena: Serena Williams and Simone Biles Rising.
The untitled documentaries will form part of Tennis Channel’s documentary strand, Tennis Story, alongside five other films expected later this year. The network is also launching Tennis Story: The Vault, a collection of 20 docu-shorts from the past decade.
The curated lineup includes stories centered on Kobe Bryant, Andy Murray, Ryan Day, San Quentin, Learner Tien, Ben Shelton and Iva Jovic.
