EbonyLife Media has obtained the rights to screen the forthcoming Bob Marley biopic “Bob Marley – One Love” at its Nigerian cinema locations starting in Feb. 14, 2024.
The news was announced by EbonyLife CEO Mo Abudu via Instagram on Wednesday.
Directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, the film traces Marley’s upbringing in Jamaica through his rise to become globally renowned as the King of Reggae. It features exclusive full performances of his classic hits along with a glimpse at his period of self-imposed exile in London where albums like “Exodus” and “Kaya” were created.
The movie is produced by Marley’s son, Ziggy Marley, his wife Rita Marley, and daughter, Cedella Marley. The cast includes Kingsley Ben-Adir, James Norton, Lashana Lynch and Micheal Gandolfini.
Abudu shared that in celebration of the film’s Nigerian premiere, EbonyLife will host a special Rooftop Reggae Party event on Feb. 17, 2024.
While “Bob Marley – One Love” was originally slated for a January worldwide release, fans can now catch the definitive biopic chronicling the music legend on the big screen at EbonyLife Cinemas across Nigeria beginning Feb. 14, 2023.
