The Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria (EMCOAN) held elections recently to elect a new executive team to lead the organization.

Prior to the elections, outgoing president Jibeh Ologeh expressed gratitude for member support during her two-year tenure. She highlighted achievements like EMCOAN gaining recognition as a sectoral body by the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) and establishing the Nigerian Electronic Media Content Market (NEMCEA), now in its third season.

Urging continued solidarity, Ologeh called upon the association to rally behind the incoming executives, fostering a collective effort to propel EMCOAN to greater heights.

“I am deeply grateful for the unwavering support we’ve received from our members during my tenure. Together, we have achieved significant milestones, including the recognition of EMCOAN as a sectoral body by ARCON,” Ologeh expressed.

The election yielded Adeniji Omirin as the unopposed president of EMCOAN. Omirin is the Managing Director of Adnom Communications Ltd. Joining him in the executive ranks are Chinedu Ugwu as first Vice President, Patrick Doyle as second Vice President, and the reappointment of Steve Alayande as General Secretary. Anita Aggarrey-Oke and Longe Omolaja were also reinstated as Financial Secretary and Welfare Secretary, respectively.

After the new executives were sworn in, President Omirin advocated for appointing the outgoing president, Jibeh Ologeh, to EMCOAN’s Board of Trustees to fill a vacant position left by a former member’s passing.

“Ologeh’s wealth of experience and dedication to EMCOAN make her an invaluable addition to our Board of Trustees,” President Omirin remarked.

Embracing their mandate, the newly elected executives, under the leadership of The new EMCOAN leadership team, headed by President Adeniji Omirin, pledged to take the organization to new heights of success. They called on EMCOAN members to support the incoming executives as the association embarks on this new chapter.
