Magic Media Studios and Nne Studios return to Alliance Française, Ikoyi, with the second edition of their short film showcase, presenting four compelling stories that explore family, love, betrayal, and resilience in contemporary Nigerian life.
Four Short Films Take Center Stage at Exclusive Screening 2.0 in Lagos
The second edition of Exclusive Screening, an annual short film showcase by Magic Media Studios and Nne Studios, drew industry professionals and film enthusiasts to Alliance Française de Lagos/Mike Adenuga Centre on October 5.

The event featured four short films—It Shines Bright on Monday, Convictions, Two Hearts, One Soul, and We Are Good People—each screened twice across two sessions.
The evening began on the red carpet, welcoming AMVCA-winning filmmaker Myde Glover (who produced all four films, wrote three, and starred in two), editor Anjola Aluko, actors Sharon Rotimi, Diana Childs, and Timilehin Ojeola, as well as filmmaker Emmanuel Uduma and other industry colleagues.

The Films
The showcase opened with It Shines Bright on Monday, written by Glover and directed by Horla Manuvor Jnr. The story follows twin sisters separated by circumstance, exploring their eventual reunion after a tragic loss. The cast includes Sharon Rotimi, Nneoma Onyekwele, Bobby Ogbolu, Kingsley Chibuzor, Zuriel Iyitor, and Zahra Iyitor.

Next, Convictions, directed by Ola “Naked” Jegede, presented a mother’s desperate attempt to reclaim her son in a society quick to judge. Starring Mofe Okorodudu, Bobby Ekpe, Wunmi Tause-Fosudo, Chidinma Udemadu, Nifemi Lawal, and Seun Kentebe, the film captivated viewers with its raw emotional tension.
Two Hearts, One Soul, directed by and starring Glover alongside Miracle Inyanda, explored a fleeting but transformative connection between a struggling photographer and a mysterious woman.
The evening concluded with We Are Good People, written by Glover and directed by Jegede. What begins as a lighthearted gathering among friends quickly turns into betrayal and tragedy. The cast included Detola Jones, Charles Lenny, Timilehin Ojeola, Nneoma Onyekwele, Myde Glover, Tega Obahor, and Pecullar Adunni, earning resounding applause from the audience.
Looking Ahead
Speaking exclusively to TNR, editor Anjola Aluko hinted at future expansions for the showcased films. “There’s supposed to be a part two [to We Are Good People], so it’s a continuous thing. This is just the beginning.”
Glover, whose previous work includes Everything Light Touches, added: “I wouldn’t say that I have set plans, but if the chance came, I would definitely explore more. The films have the potential to be more. I never limit a story; resources just dictate the format.”
The team plans to further amplify their work through festivals and online platforms. “This event was about controlling who sees our films. Festivals are unpredictable, but we hope our work reaches global audiences,” Glover said. The short films from Exclusive Screening 2.0 will premiere publicly on YouTube at a later date.
