The new space will serve as a hub for storytelling, content innovation, and professional training across television, film, and branded content.
Award-winning filmmaker and media executive Femi Odugbemi has unveiled BLACKBox, a new creative consultancy and training facility aimed at nurturing African storytelling talent.
Located in the heart of Lekki, BLACKBox will function as a space for content design, production consultancy, and skill development in television, film, documentary, and branded storytelling. The facility, equipped with state-of-the-art resources, can host up to 50 participants for hands-on workshops and includes meeting rooms, group breakout areas, and roundtable discussion spaces.
“BLACKBox is more than just a space,” Odugbemi said. “It’s an ecosystem for shaping compelling African stories with global impact. Our goal is to support creators not just in storytelling craft, but also in the development, structure, and delivery of content that is authentic, innovative, and commercially viable.”
The hub’s offerings include project development consultancy for both emerging and established creators, as well as training intensives, masterclasses, and mentorship programs. These will cover script development, production design, directing, and audience engagement.
BLACKBox will also house Zuri24 Media, the production company behind “Battleground,” “Brethren,” “Covenant,” “Gidi Blues,” and “The Man Died.” Its presence within the hub is expected to provide real-time learning opportunities for participants and foster industry collaboration.
By integrating consultancy services with professional training, BLACKBox aims to contribute to Nigeria’s creative economy, offering mentorship and strategic support to help African stories reach global audiences.
