Fireboy Debuts His First Single of 2023, Iyanya Drops “Sinner”

Afrobeats superstar, Fireboy DML kicked off the first half of 2023 with a blazing new track, “Someone.”

The track was released on May 3 and has quickly garnered conversation online by fans who have been eagerly waiting for the superstar’s comeback.

The “Peru” crooner has been touring the world and selling out shows but now he is back to recording new music. He dropped the visuals of “Someone” on his official YouTube page, with direction and editing from renowned director Bruno Martin.

Fireboy DML is known for hit songs such as “Jealous,” “Bandana,” and “Vibration.” His albums have garnered critical and commercial success worldwide, selling millions of copies.

Meanwhile, it has been a hot minute since the Nigerian music scene last heard from Iyanya. The “Ur Waist” crooner has been trending on social media for reasons other than music (cue the taking a Davido fan that he met at the Timeless Concert out on a date). But he is back with a bang with an exhilarating new single, “Sinner.”

After a string of teasers on his social media handles, the official song and music video made its debut on May 4. Superstar producer, Shugavybz produced the track while the music video was directed by Ochuko Lagos.

“Sinner” marks Iyanya’s first collaboration with the King of Nigerian collaborations, BNXN (formerly known as Buju).
