Fireboy DML’s third studio album, Playboy, has surpassed one billion streams on Spotify, marking a major milestone for the artiste.
Released on August 4, 2022, the 14-track project becomes the eighth Nigerian album to reach the one billion mark on the streaming platform. The achievement also places Fireboy among the few Nigerian acts with projects in the billion-stream category.
The most recent Nigerian project to reach the milestone before Playboy was CKay’s CKay The First (EP), which crossed one billion streams in December 2025.
Tracks contributing significantly to Playboy’s performance include “Peru” featuring Ed Sheeran, “Bandana” featuring Asake, and the title track “Playboy.”
Across the continent, Rema’s Rave & Roses (Ultra) remains the most streamed African project on Spotify, with over 3.2 billion streams, driven largely by the global success of “Calm Down” and its remix with Selena Gomez.
Below are the most streamed Nigerian albums of all time.
