Funke Akindele has unveiled the cast and release date for her latest December blockbuster, The Four: No One Fights Alone, which is set to open in cinemas on December 11, 2026.
The award-winning filmmaker, actress, and producer announced the title and cast after first teasing the project on July 24 with an image of herself seated in a director’s chair. The film is produced by Funke Akindele Network (FAAN TV) and distributed by FilmOne Entertainment.
The Four follows the lives of four strong women and brings together an ensemble cast led by Akindele, Bisola Aiyeola, Chioma Akpotha, Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), Timini Egbuson, Lateef Adedimeji, Ali Nuhu, Uzor Arukwe, and Wunmi Toriola.
The cast also features award-winning singer Waje and Afrobeats singer Shoday, alongside entertainment personalities Samuel Banks, Kolapo Omotosho, and Ayomide Iwasokun.
The film arrives with significant box-office expectations following Akindele's track record with December releases. A Tribe Called Judah became the first Nigerian film to cross ₦1 billion at the domestic box office in 2023, eventually grossing about ₦1.4 billion.
In 2024, Everybody Loves Jenifa also crossed the ₦1 billion mark and became the fastest Nollywood film to reach the milestone at the time. Akindele's most recent release, Behind The Scenes (2025), went on to gross more than ₦2 billion, overtaking Everybody Loves Jenifa to become the highest-grossing film in West Africa.
With The Four now joining Akindele's growing catalogue of December releases, the film is positioned as one of the major titles competing for audiences during the 2026 holiday cinema season.
