According to Shock NG, Ibrahim Yekini’s indigenous series Koleoso has emerged as Nigeria’s most searched series of 2025, outperforming several global titles, including Beauty in Black.
The YouTube franchise achieved a rare feat on Google Nigeria’s annual search charts, placing three separate entries at numbers 5, 7, and 9 among the country’s most searched series. This made Koleoso the only title to appear multiple times in the top ten list.
Parts six and seven of the series have each crossed 10 million views on YouTube, underscoring the project’s sustained audience interest. The numbers place Koleoso in direct competition with internationally backed productions while highlighting the growing influence of indigenous-language content on digital platforms.
The series’ performance also reflects how community-driven engagement continues to fuel organic growth on YouTube, reinforcing the platform’s role as a viable distribution channel for Nollywood creators working outside traditional cinema and streaming systems.
Koleoso stars Ibrahim Yekini, Kemi Apesin, Saliu Gbolagade, Babatunde Bernard, and Victoria Adeboye. The official synopsis describes a society governed by charms, where power determines survival. The story follows a hardened father, Osogbemi, who raises his three children under the belief that spiritual charms are the ultimate source of authority. In his world, no man, force, or god wields greater power than what he carries.
