The story of Manchester United’s historic 1998/99 season, when they won the Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Champions League, is set to be retold in a new three-part documentary series, “99,” premiering exclusively on Prime Video on May 17.
Directed by Sampson Collins, the series features in-depth interviews with key figures from that iconic season, including legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson and players such as David Beckham, Andy Cole, Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Peter Schmeichel, Paul Scholes, Teddy Sheringham, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and Dwight Yorke.
“99” promises to offer a never-before-seen look into the dressing room, revealing the personal struggles, internal conflicts, and miraculous moments that defined Manchester United’s path to an unprecedented treble triumph.
Despite their domestic dominance in the 1990s, the Red Devils had yet to conquer Europe when they arrived at the 1999 UEFA Champions League final.
The series explores how, in just 10 days, Ferguson’s team of homegrown talents and international stars achieved the first “treble” in English football history, capping off their incredible season with a dramatic comeback victory in the final.
“99” will launch exclusively on Prime Video worldwide on May 17th, ahead of the 25th anniversary of Manchester United’s historic triumph.
