NEMCEA Awards Celebrate Excellence in Third Edition

The Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria (EMCOAN) hosted its third annual Nigerian Electronic Media Content Exhibition and Awards (NEMCEA) at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Ikeja on Aug. 7-8, 2024.

The event, which began in 2022, recognizes outstanding achievements in content creation across television, radio, and electronic media platforms.

At the award night held on Aug. 8, which was the grand finale of this year’s edition, Greg “Teddy Bear” Ojefua won Best Actor for his role in “Road Trip,” while Mary Gold took home Best Actress for “Wrath of the Gods.” Victor Eyike earned Best Director honors for “Road Trip.”

In the television category, “i5ive Series” dominated, winning Best Overall Drama Series and Best Children/Teen Show. Kayode Peters, the show’s producer, received the Creative Nigeria Summit (CNS) Award for Best Producer.

Other notable television winners included “Healthy Meals” for Best Cooking Show, “700 Club Nigeria” for Best Entertainment Show, and “Health Monitor” for Best Health Show.

In radio, “The Healthy Living Show” won Best Health Show, while Joan Ologeh was named Best Radio Personality. The “Triple M Show” took home the award for Best Entertainment Show in the radio category.

The event also recognized international content, with “Sister Wives” on Zee World winning Best Drama Series (International) and Zee World itself named Best Content Channel (International).

Special recognition awards were presented to industry veterans and innovators, including Agatha Amata for Outstanding Content Creator and the former minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, Toyin Subair, and Olalekan Fadolapo for their roles as Champions of TV Broadcast Revolution in Nigeria.
