Netflix Unveils Trailer of Star-Studded Animated Fantasy Musical “Spellbound”

Netflix has released the trailer for “Spellbound,” an animated fantasy musical set to debut on the streaming service Nov. 22.

The film, produced by Skydance Animation, follows teenage Princess Ellian as she attempts to save her cursed parents and reunite her divided kingdom. Set in the magical realm of Lumbria, “Spellbound” promises a blend of adventure, comedy, and music.

Vicky Jenson, known for directing “Shrek,” helms the project. The screenplay is a collaboration between Julia Miranda, Lauren Hynek, and Elizabeth Martin.

The voice cast boasts an impressive lineup of talent, including Rachel Zegler as Princess Ellian, BAFTA winner Nicole Kidman, Emmy winner John Lithgow, Jenifer Lewis, renowned stage performer Nathan Lane, and Academy and Golden Globe winner Javier Bardem.

EGOT winner Alan Menken, famed for his work on Disney classics, composed the soundtrack, and Grammy-winning lyricist Glenn Slater contributes to the music.

The promotional poster showcases Ellian and her parents against a starry night sky, capturing the film’s fairytale essence.

This release comes on the heels of Netflix’s recent price increase for Nigerian subscribers, as the company continues to expand its animated content offerings.
