Netflix’s Documentary Series to Explore the Future with Bill Gates, Premieres September 18

Netflix is set to release a five-part documentary series featuring Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates. The series, titled “What’s Next? The Future with Bill Gates,” is directed by Oscar-winning documentarian Morgan Neville and will premiere on September 18.
The documentary aims to explore various aspects of the future, focusing on topics such as climate change, income inequality, disease eradication, and AI advancement. Gates serves as the central figure, offering his insights on these pressing global issues.
According to Netflix’s description, the series will follow “visionary philanthropist Bill Gates as he delves into pressing global issues and uncovers cutting-edge technologies that will transform the world.”
The trailer for the series showcases Gates in conversation with a diverse range of prominent figures, including:
- Anthony Fauci, former Chief Medical Advisor to the President of the United States
- Lady Gaga, musician and actress
- Bono, musician and activist
- Greg Brockman, technology entrepreneur
- James Cameron, filmmaker
- Mark Cuban, entrepreneur and investor
- Phoebe Gates, Bill Gates’ daughter
- Senator Bernie Sanders
- Senator Mitt Romney
Promotional materials for the documentary also feature Gates visiting TerraPower, a nuclear energy company he has invested in, located in Wyoming.
The series promises to offer a unique perspective on future challenges and innovations, drawing on Gates’ experience in technology and philanthropy.
