New Year, New Music: Ariana Grande Set to Release New Single
With a surprise post that no one saw coming, American popstar Ariana Grande will return to the music scene for the first time in three years.
She took a break to focus on her role as Glinda the Good Witch in the theatrical adaptation of “Wicked,” and while belting songs from the critically acclaimed Broadway musical, she managed to record latest music of her own.
On Jan. 7, Grande posted a blurry picture of her face with red lipstick on Instagram, with the caption, “yes, and?” coming Jan.12. The post has since received over three million likes.
The Grammy-winner also shared the single’s pre-save link and made some changes to her Sweetener Instagram page by uploading the same picture as her official Instagram, along with the pre-save link. (Sweetener is the title of her fourth studio album).
Prior to the announcement, Gande had shared clips of herself working in the studio, causing a frenzy among fans and her celebrity friends.
The last album Grande released was “Positions” in October 2020. It was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards.
